Not all insurance plans are the same. Lower cost plans usually have higher co-pays, deductibles and more non-covered services. Performance Pediatrics does not have information about your personal insurance coverage. Always check with your insurance plan to see what your particular plan covers.

While we are in network with most major plans, patients must always check with their insurance provider to see if we are in the network for the patient's particular plan. There are dozens, sometimes hundreds, of plans offered by each of these companies and Performance Pediatrics may not be in your particular network.  The major plans we work with include (subject to change):

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (including Blue Benefit, Blue Choice and Blue Card)
  • Cigna
  • Fallon
  • Harvard Pilgrim (including Health Plans, Inc.)
  • Neighborhood Health Plan (including NHP MassHealth plan)
  • Tufts (We are not in-network for Tufts Health Plan Direct, Select, Spirit or the Tufts Network Healthplan)
  • United (including Harrington Benefit Services)

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

If you need assistance with paying for medical services, please contact Health Care for All at 800-272-4232. Health Care for All is a free Massachusetts resource that can answer general insurance questions, tell you what free and lower-cost programs you may be eligible for, and help you to apply. For qualified patients, we are happy to bill MassHealth as a secondary payer.

NOTE FOR MASSHEALTH PATIENTS

MassHealth offers a number of managed-care plans. In our experience MassHealth can, and will, change a MassHealth patient's plan at their discretion, especially if a member has ignored paperwork from MassHealth. If you wish to remain a patient a Performance Pediatrics it is critical that your child remain in a plan Dr. McAllister is in network with (currently this is only Neighborhood Health Plan). We love that the State of Massachusetts provides free and/or low-cost health insurance to families. It is important to note, though, that even though there isn't a financial cost to MassHealth plans, there is a cost in your time on the phone with MassHealth to ensure your child is enrolled in a plan that corresponds with where you wish to obtain care.

Special Note for 2018: Staring in January 2018, MassHealth plans on moving the majority of MassHealth patients into Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). You may have read about these plans in the news and, at this time, Performance Pediatrics does not have specifics. We will keep our Facebook page up-to-date with ACO details as they become available to us.
